Underground Series Canceled

The network, announced they were canceling the show “Underground” after only two series. Underground was a drama show that showcased the history of the Underground Railroads. The second season was on Harriet Tubman.
The President and CO of Tribune Media release a statement :”As WGN America evolves and broadens the scope and scale of its portfolio of series, we recently announced that resources will be reallocated to a new strategy to increase our relevance within the rapidly changing television landscape. despite being a “terrific” and “important,” the series “no longer fits with our new direction.”
John Legend tweeted about the show being cancel.
“Content wins. We’re not reliant on a particular network to make great content. We’re so proud of our show and the audience that supported! “

Underground premiered  in 2016, carried on for 2 seasons and got raved reviews. I saw the first season and loved it. Found some episodes to be rather hard to watch. The show starred, Jurnee Smollett, Aldis Hodge and Amirah Vann.
